MINUTES of a "RED RAG" Collective meeting, 6pm, Sunday 19th Jan 1986. 13 present. 1. Advertising. Pogle volunteered to chase up all the ads appearing in Red Rag for the money due. All monies received for adverts should be mentioned to him. Not a job to go on the front cover of t'Rag. 2. Money. Reputed to be approx £25 in the black. (An issue costs about £75 to print) 3. Cassette service. Plenty of offers of assistance have been made, so please no more requests in t'Rag. 4. Posties. Paul relinquishing; Veronique taking over. 5. Listings. Going Out & Events toddling along OK. Regular events developing. Isn't it about time "Help" listings were sorted out? Mark R. volunteered. 6. "Not-the-sos-list". Anyone volunteering to help with t'Rag should be added to this list (in t'box). 7. Blackburn Community Arts group, they would like to send someone to see how RR t'Rag is produced, in early Feb. OK by us. Mark R (that issue's coordinator) to contact them. Request a donation. 8. Coordinators: Feb 8th,9th: Paul (Veronique on Sunday) Feb 22nd,23rd: Guy March 8th,9th: Mark R (Simon on Sunday) ** Have I got this all wrong? ** 9. Womens Centre Newsletter. Is there room for closer cooperation? Question posed by two women of the newsletter. At present much information is duplicated in the two publications. Womens newsletter goes to 400 addresses. The distribution lists could be compared and some possibly delivered jointly. Karen to look at it. There appears to be a need to retain some form of limited distribution Womens Letter outside Red Rag, but the cost and work involved in this may possibly be reduced. Various other ideas floated and either abandoned or adjourned for further thought etc. 10. Veggie Dining. Red Rag Collective to do one! Paul / Ian / Simon / Veronique to find a date and organise a cooks meeting. All RRReaders invited to assist. 11. Dance Music Tape. Expected to spring into existence before end of last year, but apparently disappeared into the Red Rag cavern. Mark R. to pursue. 12. The Gig 28th Jan. Helpers needed on door. Hairier Paul coordinating. 13. More gigs. Mon 17th Feb at Paradise is available. Possibly middle of March also. Simon & Paul looking into it. 14. Mayday. We'll take a stall at "official" one on 3rd May. We expect it to be free in return for us publicising the thing. The Paradise is booked for the real Mayday. Does Red Rag want to be involved? More news awaited on this one. 15. Recent publicity / Editorial policy debate part 38 1/2. Apparently t'Rag has been mentioned by several pretend "newspapers" in connection with some graphics in the Solstice edition... It would be a sad day if we allowed ourselves to be inhibited by driveling from Evening Post or t'Police. Some present expressed concern at the apparently prevailing violent content. There is still no policy: t'Rag is hoped to be an open forum which welcomes all contributions. 16 Next Meeting: 6pm, Sunday 2nd March, provisionally at 19 George St Apologies to all present whose contribution to the discussions have been omitted in abbreviation of t'meeting.
