RED RAG COLLECTIVE MEETING: 92a London Road (Sunday October 20th 1985) Present: Jackie (thanks for the tea!), Liz H, Chris, Ian, Cliff, Laura, James, Paul H, Mark R, Simon. 1: Money: intuition tells us we're OK. 2: Benefits: all seems under control for Weds. 23rd. Late November / early Dec for a gig at the Paradise perhaps. 3: Money: enter James who doesn't know a lot about it. He's treasurer. 4: Co-ordination: People seemed to agree that the co-ordinator system is better than its predecessor (2 pasteup teams). But the responsibility of getting everything done / delegated makes it a chore. Folding & collation on Sundays especially fraught - so there will now be a seperate "Sunday co-ordinator" to arrange folding etc, to liaise with the co-ordinator & distribution person. Anyone interested contact Box 79, Acorn Books, 17 Chatham St. or phone the co-ordinator. 5: Co-ordinators: - 9/10 Nov: see front of Rag (Sunday person - Liz H) - 23/24 Nov: Mark (868488) (Sunday person - James 595605) - 7/8 Dec: Jackie (Sunday person - Cliff) 6: Printing: Ian & John H feel other people should be able to print the Rag, for continuity. But learning needs commitment. 7: Merchandise: - Postcards of Tim Andra's "Radical Chic" to be produced by Liz & Ian this week. (15p from Acorn) - 1986 calendar probably on the way. - Rag Bag tape no. 2 - no-one knows. 8: Columns: recently submitted "agriculture column" not actually requested by Ye Collective but all contributions will be considered on their merits by the editorial group. Citizen Cain apparently wants to write again if the Rag will contact CC about editing - which it will. We collectively apologize for not doing this before. 9: Editorial policy: Just to reiterate, the Rag has no fixed policy. Contributions all considered on their merits by the editorial meeting, which is open to all. 10: Copies to Outlets: Sometimes not all the Rags sent to a shop are picked up. Could the distribution person & the area deliverers check up on this? 11: Growth (where will it end?): Most people see an increased print run & circulation as a good thing. But getting more outlets is a more efficient use of everyone's time than increase door-to-door deliveries. 12: Events: Collective thanks, gold watch & Freedom of the Town to Mark P. for doing Events. As he/we realised when he started it, he couldn't do it fully. But there was no-one else then: so how about now, people?? Next Collective: Sun Dec 1st, 6pm, Flat 6, 117 Kendrick Road. See you there. -- $Id: //info.ravenbrook.com/user/ndl/readings-only-newspaper/minutes/1985/1985-10-20.txt#1 $
