Minutes of the Red Rag Collective Meeting Sunday August 25th The intrepid explorers who made it to the far reaches of Woodley were:- Cliff, Jacqui, Paul H', Ian, Mark R & Liz. 1. Next collective meeting: 4pm Sunday 6th October at Ian's, 39 Coventry Road, Newtown. We discussed whether or not Sunday afternoons were the best time for these meetings, decided that they probably were. 2. Next co-ordinators : Sunday 1st September - Lynne - 65955 " 15th September - Mark R. - 782178 " 29th September - (Cliff - to be arranged) " 13th October - Jacqui - c/o 595605 * see below Cliff's in brackets 'cos he's trying to find an excuse to get out of it - no, no, let's be honest - he may or may not be moving. Mark is going to put together a list of things for co-ords to do. It is not intended as a comprehensive list, just to give 1st timers some idea of what not to forget. 3. Posties - Paul isn't being told when people give money for postage, he's cancelled subs because of it. If you receive money, let him know who from, how much, and the starting date. Acorn people to be asked to make a note if subs go into RR tin. 4. RR 6th Anniversary mid September approx. As the Rag is in debt to Acorn for about £130 (aaargh!) discussed whether to have a social or a benefit. Decided on a social first. Paul H to book Crown for a Weds at end of September. Ask Pogle for a disco. 5. More Rags to be printed for Doris' tea party next issue. Plans afoot to improve funds by taking collecting tins (buckets?) to festival with the Rags. 6. R.R. Readers Meeting. Cliff has an idea for a conference in October to include a a meeting of Readers. He's going to organise one beforehand to see if there's a need/desire. 7. The weather somehow got on to the agenda. Jacqui said it was bloody awful but Cliff and Mark pointed out that today was very nice. 8. No feedback about the existence or not of Standing Orders from RCM or Newtown Community House for adverts. We ask the treasurer to make a statement for the collective meetings about how the RR account stands. Nobody has a clue about how much money the Rag does or doesn't have. OK James? Standing Order form should be in the next issue. 9. Liz said that she hadn't got together a file copy for the Help and Organisation lists because she couldn't find out what was up to date. Apparently the same thing is happening to the Courses lists. Liz said she'd act as a co-ordinator and asks that changes in the listings go to her (691135). She'll get in touch with the RCU and Women's Centre for Course lists. Mark said he'd let people know about the Adult Education Courses in the Going out Guide. 10. Contact numbers have been going amiss between typists and the paste-up teams. Last minute cuts and adjustments to copy have been made difficult. Typists are asked to include telephone numbers on typed copy or return original copy securely attached. It is the co-ordinators job to remind typists to do this. 11. * We discussed the possibility of having a benefit gig to pay for the installation of a telephone at 92a. Either that or every one inconvenienced by the lack to club together to provide a joint Yuletide present. No decision was reached, although everyone thought it a smashing idea and the meeting broke up over the second cup of tea. There would have been more tea but I was trying to keep up with these minutes. Liz. -- $Id: //info.ravenbrook.com/user/ndl/readings-only-newspaper/minutes/1985/1985-08-25.txt#1 $
