Future Coordinators 21st July Bridget 374532 11th August Sue 682802 1st Sept Dave dunno yet 15th Sept Paul 599995 RED INK BETWEEN THE LIONS MARKS TWO - Agreed that Reading Between The Lines should be suitably reworked, expanded, updated etc. James is happy to coordinate, i.e. collect details of who want to do what. Bridget, Dave & Huw have offered to help. Agreed that this one should not be given away with every copy of the Rag (like the first one was). Provisional publication date Sept 22. Meeting to get the show on the road: Wed July 25th, 7:30pm, Acorn. DISTRIBUTION Posties: Paul will see Lesley about getting a postal subscription scheme together (and will liase with Bridget). Lesley has been financing postage herself for 3 years or thereabouts. Dave intends to make more display boxes ("dump bins" if you're in the know) for outlets, like the one in Harvest. General distribution situation in hand. EVENTS Margaret has taken this on (n.b. not on the phone). Someone (probably James) said they intended to update the "Regulars". PRODUCTION WORKSHOP (being an on-the-spot practical affair during and at the production of an issue, to teach people how to paste-up etc etc, how it's done)... agreed, no date set yet. Coordinator of that issue not to be the person taking the workshop! RED RAG'S FIFTH BIRTHDAY - coming soon. Ian will tyr (or try) to find out when. James intends to do a written history of our inglorious past, Paul mentioned a benefit gig in South Reading and some hopeful character inquired about a party. (excuse the typing) MISSING ARTICLES Or: what to do about articles not printed in one issue to make sure that they are not lost before the next. Ian is going to turn the Red Rag Box (at Acorn) into Two Red Rag Boxes. One will contain copy. Coordinators should empty the box completely. If any item is omitted, the author should be contacted & the item - suitably labelled as having been held over - returned to the box. The other box will contain the bnf that accumulates from week to week. Typing instructions in a simple form should go into the Rag again. Also the note on authors giving us some means of contacting them. Comments should generally be restricted to Going Out and Events i.e. as in the past. Other comments, if we feel we must, it's appropriate or whatever, should be information rather than opinion (I hope all this is clear - Typist). ££££££££££££££££££ - we have about a hundred of these. Standing orders brings in about ££££60 per month. Agreed to reprint the Standing order form. NEWS COVERAGE - If we are to increase our "community newspaper" side then we need a more active approach to copy. i.e. not just sitting back and waiting for it to arrive. Dave agreed to write an article on a News Network for the Rag and is interested in doing a Journalism workshop. Mistyped by Nick. Yours is number 3 in a limited edition of 50.
