In the event of a nuclear alert there will be cruise missiles based at Greenham common, Newbury, dispersed to Reading. A meeting of the Newbury campaign against cruise missiles tonight at 8pm at the united Reform Chiurch, Cromwell Place, Newbury, this is opposite Marks & Spencer in the town Centre. 2 Reading Women’s Group meets at 8pm in the Old Town Hall and will talk about ‘Beyond the Fragments’. WEDNESDAY 9 JULY There will be a picnic at Greenham Common later this month (see entry for 20 July). A planning meeting to organise this will be held tonight, call Acorn books for venue. MONDAY 14 JULY Stand by the Adwest strikers. Rally to the gates in Headley Road East, Woodley, to support the day of action to stop the scabs and close the factory. From 6am. TUESDAY 15 JULY 1 Reading District Councillors are tabling a motion opposing cruise missiles at Greenham Common. Rally to the Civic Offices 6-6.30 to support the motion and lobby councillors. 2 Women’s issues: do we fight for state provision or create our own alternatives?
